Yesterday's random draw mixed doubles tournament was quite a challenge. Early in the morning they broke one of the tables so only seven tables were available for the tournament. With the draw all set to use eight tables tournament chairman Cornel West needed some fancy footwork to keep the matches going forward. And then with just a few matches left a thunderstorm knocked out power to Laurel Manor Recreation Center and the surrounding area ending the tournament a little early.
Congratulations to our winners.
1. Yulia Wilson & Ron Taylor
2. Kate Aiello & Bruce Gintoft
3. Ta Giger & Mike Schrock

* A scramble tournament is a team event. All four players hit off the tee. The team selects the best one and every player hits their second shot from there. Repeat until the ball is in the hole. Each team must use each players tee shot at least once. Men will play from the white tees and women may play from the green or friendly tees ..... wherever she usually plays from. The team with the lowest score wins.
