Six foursomes competed for the Spring Golf Tournament. The winners at 5 under par were Scott, Emma and Matt MacDonald plus Mardee Goldberg. In second place at 4 under par were John Borjeson, Donna Beski, Jack Rietbroek and Barb Petit. Dead last at 1 under par were Mike Rusaw, Marilyn Cates, Stu Lesser and Karen Moody.

On Sunday Sept 24 we held a women's doubles tournament and a men's doubles tournament. Each player was paired with a different partner for each of the 15 matches. In the event of a tie the player with the fewest points lost had the higher finish.

And many thanks to Mike Rusaw for running another fine tournament. Congratulations to Harry Rauch who prevailed 11-9 in the third game over John Borjeson to take King of the Hill at the Sunday Singles event at Laurel Manor on August 14.

Four teams advanced to the semifinals.

The 2nd Table Tennis golf outing was held July 6th at Yankee Clipper. It was a great day and thanks for the anti rain dances performed by Judy and Nancy. I really thought from the forecast that no way we were playing. Anyway we got off on time and we only had one no show (He called in and let us know). Competition was tight with the first place team scoring 4 under, 2nd place was 3 under and the next three teams were tied at 1 under.

Congratulations to our winner Stu Lesser with 12 matches won. Gordon Weinblatt and Bill Mogensen tied for second with Gordon getting the edge with fewer points lost, 147 to 151. Cornel West finished fourth. Doubles tournament Sunday June 27, 12:00 noon at Laurel Manor Recreation Center. Each match will be played with a different partner. All matches are one game to 21 points. Switch ends and receivers when one team reaches 11 points. Record wins, losses and scores on individual score sheets. There are a limited number of players so enter early.
Usually activity drops off this time of year as people head out of the Villages for the summer. But this is not the usual summer and many of you may be electing to stay in town. Please tell us if you would be interested in any of the following activities.
